LEADERSHIP

We believe Jesus is the Head of the church and a we are to pursue a local, plurality of leadership submitted to Him. We seek a shared responsibility of leadership in serving, teaching, making disciples, and shepherding God’s people. We believe that pastors/ elders are called and appointed by God to oversee the church for the purpose of equipping the saints for ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16).

Our pastors/elders are and will be affirmed to the biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-16, and 1 Peter 5:1-4. As we are in the early stages of starting Redeemer Church, our network partners help support this effort through accountability, encouragement, and counsel. During this beginning season we are seeking to equip and train future elders and deacons.

Shayne Robinson

Vision & Preaching
Shayne and his wife, Christina, have lived in Waterloo for the past three years with their four daughters: Amara, Addy, Karis, and Kaelyn. After a number of years in the business world, and years pursuing training in SBC seminaries and the local church, God clarified Shayne’s calling to serve in pastoral ministry. After moving to Waterloo, Shayne and his family were convinced that there was great need to plant additional gospel-centered churches in the community. Shayne currently works bi-vocationally as Redeemer is established in the community and he is often found preparing sermons or meeting with people in the community to study the Bible or talk about life. Shayne serves Redeemer as the primary preaching pastor.…

TJ Geist

Discipleship & Families
TJ was born and raised in Illinois. He met his wife Amy while attending Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and they were married in 2000. They live in Columbia with their three daughters: Jaylyn, Adley, and Leighton, and a very busy son: Colton. Prior to becoming an elder at Redeemer church, he served as a deacon and small group bible study leader for many years. He currently works as a department manager at a non-attorney representation company in Belleville, Illinois. TJ is working to help us love our neighbors, serve those who are with us, and make disciples as Christ commanded in scripture.…
